New update - August 17, 2015

Hello Crown alum's. It's less than 2 weeks to the picnic so here is the final update. Let's review. The date is Saturday Aug 29th, rain or shine. The place is Oxbow park located off of County Road 45 in Dunlap, straight across the tracks from Meijer. We will gather at the Cottonwood shelter, same as always. The reason we always go there is because that shelter can handle our numbers and parking requirements. Parking will be up along the shelter and across and east of the shelter. No parking on the grass. Clyde will give the bless of the food at noon and we will begin food service immediately after. Bring your favorite dish to share and perhaps a lawn chair just in case. You may arrive any time after 11:00. We will have outlets to keep hotplates warm if needed. When you arrive please sign in with your name and e-mail address. Please print all info. Then pick up a business card with dates and as you come across old alum's give them a card.

This year the old HCJB (now Sonset Solutions) is having a open house at their facility on 17th street across the street from Crown. It runs from 2 to 4. At 4:15 they will be honoring the life and contrabutions of Mr Moore and we have all been invited. This is not mandatory but if you would like to attend you need to leave early enough to get there by 4:15. Remember you will need to cross the railroad tracks and they are busy and slow, now running ~140 trains a day.

Last subject, the committee is getting older as is starting to talk about how to keep this activity alive as we pass. If there are any of you out there who would like to take control for a few picnics please feel free to step up. Please e-mail me if you have any interest and you can participate in organizing the next picnic.

Here is flyer that Sonset has produced with more info on their event.
