New update - May 28, 2015

Hello fellow alum's. Here it is June already and the committee has had its first meeting. Let's review some of the details. Our carry in picnic is scheduled for Saturday August 29th rain or shine. It will be at the Cottonwood shelter at Oxbow Park. Tables will be provided for your carry in item as well as electrical outlets if your item requires power to stay warm. This year's agenda will be the same as all prior picnics, good food from your hands and fellowship as we renew old acquaintances. The blessing over the food will take place at noon so arrive between 11 and 11:45. After the meal feel free to stick around and visit. Please try to mingle. We generally have over 100 people so see who you can find.

This year will be a little different. The old HCJB (now Sonset) is honoring Mr Moore (Clarence) for all his contributions. They will have a tent set up outside their building (across from Crown) and have invited any and all of us to stop by there after the picnic. They will do a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:00 p.m. We negotiated this time so both events could be attended. We have the park till 6 p.m. so that gives the volunteers some time to clean up. We encourage you to attend if possible. I will post a link with more info as soon as Sonset has something ready.

Also, once you pay to get into the park before you leave you might want to drive the loop and see the new tower. As you recall the old one was burned down some years back and has been replaced by a newer version.

Lastly, if any of you would like to hang a little bit and help pick up the trash and help with the load out it would be certainly appreciated.

That's it for now. Check back later for more updates.
